Copyright of Architectural Drawings - Illinois State Bar Association (October 2019)
This program, a continuing legal education program for other attorneys, provided background on the Copyright Act’ amendment to include protection for architectural designs. Jon presented and discussed cases that followed the Architectural Works Copyright Protection Act of 1990 and provided guidance on how the Act’s application in federal courts located in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana.
Intellectual Property for the Visual Artist - Springfield Art Association (May 2019)
This discussion presented tools for visual artists to protect their work and avoid infringing on others’ rights. The discussion focused on the Copyright Act, The Visual Artists Rights Act, trademarks, and design patents. The discussion aimed towards engagement and participants left with a better understanding of intellectual property rights to use to protect themselves.
